A Couple Photoshoot in London

A Day in London with Friends and a Camera

Last June, one of my best friends, who also happens to be a wedding photographer, came to London from France with her partner. Naturally, I had to spend the day with them… and naturally, I brought my camera along.

Doing a couple photoshoot in London is always a joy for me. I now live only about 1h20 away by train, and I actually lived in London for a short while when I first moved to the UK. Over the years, I’ve discovered a few spots that make the perfect backdrop for relaxed and romantic photos.

So we spent the afternoon wandering through the city, stopping wherever the light and atmosphere felt right.

Starting the Session at Cecil Court

Our first stop for this couple photoshoot in London was Cecil Court. It’s a quiet little street filled with bookshops and art galleries, tucked away just off Charing Cross Road.

As both M. and I are massive book nerds, it felt like the perfect place to start. The street has this slightly old-world, intellectual feel — almost like stepping into a Parisian bookshop district.

And visually, it’s a dream. The shop windows create reflections, textures, and beautiful light to play with. We spent quite a while there, experimenting with angles and enjoying the calm atmosphere before heading elsewhere.

Golden Hour in Notting Hill

From there, we jumped on the tube and made our way to Notting Hill. We had spotted a small bakery called Biscuiteers and thought it might make a cute stop during the session.

When we arrived… oh my god. It was even more charming than expected.

M. and R. quickly changed outfits so we could make the most of golden hour. The soft light, the pastel colours of the neighbourhood, and the relaxed mood created the perfect setting for a couple photoshoot in London.

They spent most of the time laughing together, completely wrapped up in the moment — which, as a photographer, is exactly what you hope for.

Wandering the Quiet Streets of Notting Hill

As the sun started to set and the evening chill settled in, we wandered into a quieter residential street nearby.

Notting Hill has so many hidden corners that feel quintessentially London: colourful houses, elegant doors, and soft evening light bouncing off the buildings.

It was the perfect way to end this day in London, relaxed, simple, and very natural.

Why I Love Doing a Couple Photoshoot in London

I will never get tired of photographing in this city.

London has a unique energy. You can spend hours simply wandering its streets, discovering new corners and unexpected backdrops. Every neighbourhood has its own character, which makes each photoshoot in London feel different.

Photographing friends also makes the experience even more fun. M. being a wedding photographer herself meant she completely understood the process, and she had plenty of creative ideas too. It quickly turned into a lovely back-and-forth of inspiration.

Whether you live in the city or you’re just visiting, a couple photoshoot in London can be such a special way to capture memories.

And honestly… it’s a far better souvenir than an overpriced mug from a tourist shop, don’t you think?
