DESIGNING A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR YOU

My secret? I do my best to get to know you to create a bespoke experience.

All my clients are different, and I believe celebrating your uniqueness is key. If you’re reading these lines, it’s probably because you like the the raw emotions and the authenticity of my images. I achieve this look by focusing on making it an experience for you.

If you think the people in my photos are naturally comfortable in front of the camera: I can assure you they’re not! It’s my job to make sure my clients are relaxed enough to let me in. To help, I ask you questions, I find out what you expect from your photos, and I create a bespoke experience to create not only good photos, but also memories of a good moment spent with your loved ones.

What is editing?

And why is it such a big part of the process?

There are 3 major parts in what makes a photographer’s style unique.

First, there is the personality: you want to feel at ease with the professional who will capture your memories – it’s the experience you’ll remember when looking at your photos.

Second, there is the way they shoot: the framing and composition of their photos, the emotion shown…

And last but not least: the editing. The photo straight out of camera is like raw dough for a baker; the editing is the cooking process of photography, where a lot of the magic happens. It’s a way to get all your photos to look consistent and really professional. We edit your photos in terms of lighting, contrast, colours…so that all the potential of the image is revealed.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

I know it can be daunting to decide what to wear for your photos – but worry not, I prepared a whole guide on the subject that I will send you once we book the session! It is full of tips regarding what color association, patterns, accessories… And I am always available to address your concerns and questions before the sessions, so you can always send me pictures of what you’re considering if you want my opinion!

That’s probably the most frequent comment I’m told by clients! It’s perfectly normal to feel camera shy – I myself am extremely camera shy! I do not believe in someone being photogenic; for me it’s all a matter of feeling confidence and at ease. My job is to make everyone feel beautiful and I have a bunch of tips and tricks to get there.

A Family Photoshoot can be a bit stressful, for both the parents and the children. However, my style allows me to work around it. Because I want to have photos of natural and authentic moments, a photoshoot isn’t about posing, especially when children are involved. We talk beforehand about things your children like to do, their favorite books, toys, and we plan activities to do during the sessions. Making it about them is often enough to get them to be cooperative!

If we’re talking about a session, there are two possibilities : either we postpone the session to another day, or we embrace the rain. Bad weather can actually look great in photos : stormy skies look more dramatic than blue skies, and rain with a transparent umbrella give out a very romantic vibe. However, for weddings, we have no other choice than embracing it and finding alternative solutions.

Proposal photoshoots are absolutely a thing! The best way to propose is the way that feels like you. In any case, I do believe it’s a moment worth capturing, and I can help you plan it, too. What can I say, I’m a hopeless romantic!

Organizing a wedding can be an overwhelming task, and I want to be as helpful as I can on the matter. Over the years, I have gathered a lot of tips to make your wedding day better, and to get the best possible photos from it. Besides, I want to give you a bit of an insight on the realm of possibilities! That’s why I created a guide you’ll receive when booking with me, where I give you my tips and tricks about planning, how to get the best shots, and so on.

Kind Words…

Anaïs & Matthew

An Anglo-French Wedding in Loire Valley

“I am French and my husband is British. Julie is an incredible photographer who captures moments, and she’s also fully bilingual in both English and French. It made such a difference to us, being able to rely on her to engage with both our families, without requiring any translation. It took a lot of the stress out of the day, and we couldn’t have done it without her by our side. We now have the most amazing photos to remember our special day. We would easily recommend and hire Julie again for our future milestone moments.”

Sarah & Arnaud

An Elopment in Lapland

“The photos are amazing! Julie managed to capture all the beautiful emotions of the day. We were really emotional looking back on all these moments of happiness, and our families and friends are raving about the photos too! Now we can’t wait for the Day After Session.”

Magda & Noah

An Intimate Wedding in the South of France

“I am British and my husband is French, so for our wedding our guests were of both nationalities, with only a few speaking both languages fluently. We needed a photographer who could understand and unite all of our guests whilst simultaneously capturing the best day of our lives. Julie stepped up to the challenge and made everyone feel at ease – especially me, the bride ! She was there from the beginning, making sure everyone was in the right place, at the right time, and genuinely enjoying themselves. Her resulting photographs show the beauty and emotion of the day in a way that allows us to relive it for the rest of our lives.”
